We told you over the weekend that Billboard was projecting Big Time Rush's new album would debut at #3 with around 45,000 copies sold - BUT it turns out their projection was a bit high and the album actually did a little bit lower than that, however it's still in the top 5.
24/Seven debuts at #4 on the Billboard 200 this week with only 35,000 copies sold. As we also told you over the weekend, Billboard states that is far lower than Elevate's opening week numbers which were 70,000 copies sold and debuting at #12 on the chart.
To put the whole thing in perspective for you, here's a look at the Billboard 200 top 5 this week:
1.) "13" - Black Sabbath (155,000 copies)
2.) "Random Access Memories" - Daft Punk (48,000 copies)
3.) "The 20/20 Experience" - Justin Timberlake (35,000 copies)
4.) "24/Seven" - Big Time Rush (35,000 copies)
5.) "Here's to the Good Times" - Florida-Georgia Line (33,000 copies)
We're still super proud of our boys though! #4 is pretty darn good! You can see all the numbers on Billboard.com.
Big Time Radio on iHeartRadio is still going on and the boys of Big Time Rush recently recorded some new bumpers for the station. In the complete montage of new clips below, Carlos and all the boys talk a little about each song as they introduce them on the station. "By ALEX UNGERMAN of ETONLINE
It's shaping up to be a big summer for gold-certified pop band, Big Time Rush.
Not only is the fourth season of the band's eponymous Nickelodeon show currently airing, but their album 24/seven released June 11 (available for download on iTunes now). The album includes their hit single Like Nobody's Around, which has already garnered over 4 million hits on YouTube.
Now, BTR is set to release a video for the titular single, 24/seven, and we are unveiling a preview exclusively on ET ahead of its premiere on the band's YouTube tomorrow."
Get ready to get behind the wheel with Big Time Rush! In the next episode of season 4, it's all about cars and motorcycles in what the promo describes as the most "fuel injected, built for speed, turbo charged" episode of Big Time Rush!
Here's the episode description from TV Guide: James buys a motorcycle to impress Lucy, but he has no idea how to drive it. Meanwhile, Kendall gives Jo lessons in how to drive a stick shift; and Carlos and Logan are reluctant to give up a piece of childhood memorabilia.
"Big Time Rides" airs Thursday, June 20 at 8/7c on Nickelodeon! Be sure to tune in! Check out the promo for the episode below.
Don't forget to take the #CPNChallenge and get one other person to commit to watching the episode. Let's see if we can get the ratings up to reach 2 million viewers this week! We were close last week - let's do it this week!
It looks like Big Time Rush's new album, 24/Seven, will debut at #3 on the Billboard 200 next week! Billboard reports that the album is projected to sell about 45,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on June 16 to land that #3 spot.
Now although it's GREAT that our boys are projected to take the #3 spot on the Billboard 200, if the projection of 45,000 copies sold comes true it would be the lowest opening week for Big Time Rush. Back in 2011, Elevate debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200 and sold 70,000 copies in its first week. Before that, in 2010, BTR's debut album debuted at #3 and sold 67,000, according to Billboard and Nielsen SoundScan.
No matter what though, the boys certainly can be proud of the chart position! We'll find out officially what spot the boys land in on Wednesday, June 19. Be sure to go support the boys and download a copy of 24/Seven on iTunes or go out and pick up a copy!
